    18 August 06 - 16:01DNS Pirate hits Progressquest

Poor Progressquest.com.  It appears the same hits ganker that his thisisnotacommuity.org and .com has hit them.

    08 August 06 - 13:25The Realism Discussion

    “What are you doing?”

I just leveled and now I need to return to the city to train my new skills.

    “Why?”

Because, I need my skills and spells.

“Why don’t you automatically get them?”

    That wouldn’t be realistic.

“You’re a God damned elf! What the Hell are you talking about?”

You can’t just get skills and spells automatically that’s not very realistic now is it?

“You’re a God damned elf!  You make fire balls out of thin air!  Realistic?  What the Hell’s wrong with you people?”

Look these games have to have time sinks or people would stop playing.

“You’d quit if you didn’t have to run your little elf in to town every so often?”

    01 August 06 - 08:58Vista Changes Everything

Normally any rational person would suggest a Windows based machine if you're in to gaming.

I'm changing my suggestion the moment Vista is released and DX10 goes live.  First it appears the upgrade for DX10 (Vista) is going to cost right at $125 based on MS pricing of other products.  Second it appears at this point that the system requirements for Vista (an OS!) alone, are just stupidly high, 1gig ram, 1.5gig processor and a 128meg video card.  Do most systems meet these minimums?  No way in Hell.  Do most gaming systems?  Sure.  Have you tried Vista?  It's actually slower than XP.  It's slower, needs more system resources and if you're a classic view person, you're out of luck.

I admit I've tried Vista in beta and I hate it.  Want to game?  I suggest:

    1. Cedega 1b. TechRepublic

    2. Linux

    3. The world has turned upside down.
