Since 2011 when it was launched, ClassDojo has attracted tens of thousands and in recent past the company saw tremendous growth and the reception is awesome for such a startup. To keep up with the pressure to develop and become a globally appreciated application, ClassDojo arranged a funding campaign that led to the collection of $21 million.
This money, according to founders Lim Don and Chaudhary will be used to market and add useful features that can be monetized because they have been operating the basic version that offers teachers, parents and students an easy way to connect and share moments. In the presence of the ClassDojo application, the learning process is streamlined and all barriers eliminated through on-the-spot solutions. Parents are able to receive video updates highlighting the progress of their children and showing how they have been faring.
One of the things ClassDojo is eliminating is the need for parents to keep traveling to the schools whenever an issue needs to be discussed. With ClassDojo, these meetings are no longer useful and an important part of the teaching process since the application allows them to share information in real time. Parents can see how their kids are doing and the students can easily voice their concerns through the platform. Having a system that offers joint management of the learning process means students will gain more through the community.
The capital that was raised in the Series B funding campaign will also go to the enhancement of security features since most users are concerned about their security and privacy. Nobody wants to lose vital information in the process of sharing moments.
And this is the same reason the conditions offered do not allow the management of the platform to use information shared by members for any other purpose apart from the one described in the agreement. Although the community has not earned any revenue yet, the founders are in the process of developing premium features that users can subscribe.
